About the Contest

California State University, Stanislaus students who have built a collection of books based on a theme of interest to them are encouraged to submit an entry to the Warrior Book Contest. The contest awards cash prizes to the winning collections. The winner is also eligible to compete in the National Collegiate Book Collecting Contest.

Each book collection should focus on a well defined subject, or on an author, illustrator, printer, or book designer. Entries shall consist of an essay and bibliographies, which together demonstrate the unity of the collection. Essays should describe the history and scope of the collection, its significance to the owner, and titles of particular importance. Bibliographies are to illustrate the scope of the collection. Students should include a bibliography of 10 titles whose addition would enhance their collection. The collection's special value to the student will be of prime importance in the judging.
